On April 10, 2016, RoR took part in the Solidarity demonstration with Polish women that took place in front of the Polish Embassy in Budapest. The aim of the protest was to express outrage at the misogynistic plan to totally ban abortion in Poland and to declare solidarity with the women of Poland.
On March 31, 2016, Poland’s prime minister, Beata Szydło, announced that she supports a total ban on abortion. The very strict Polish abortion laws would, according to the suggestion that Szydło expressed her support for, become even more extreme: abortion would be banned even if the pregnancy endangers the woman’s life. On Sunday, Poland’s Catholic priests read the Episcopal Conference’s letter to their congregation, in which the Polish Catholic Church declares that even the last minimal abortion rights in Poland must be eliminated.
The total ban on abortion will not decrease the number of abortions performed, but will banish into uncontrolled and dangerous circumstances those women who have no access to relevant information or cannot afford the professional and safe alternatives (represented by international associations such as womenonwave.org or womenhelp.org). It is tragic that neither the government nor the Catholic Church of Poland is willing to acknowledge their responsibility in pushing many women, young girls as well as mothers, into deadly danger, serious health risks, or infertility due to unsafe interventions.

Beata Szydło lengyel miniszterelnök 2016, március 31-n arról beszélt, hogy támogatja az abortusz teljes betiltását, amely elképzelés szerint abban az esetben is tiltani kellene az abortuszt, ha a nő életét a terhesség veszélyezteti. A lengyelországi katolikus templomokban vasárnap hirdettek kampányt az abortusz ellen: a papok felolvasták a püspöki konferencia levelét, amely szerint a már így is nagyon korlátozott abortuszjogokat is fel kellene számolni.
Az abortusz betiltása jelentősen nem fogja csökkenteni az abortuszok számát, pusztán ellenőrizetlen és életveszélyes környezetbe és feltételek közé száműzi azokat, akik információhiány (pl internetelérés, nyelvtudás hiánya) következtében vagy anyagi helyzetük miatt nem tudják megengedni maguknak a biztonságos alternatívákat, amelyeket olyan nemzetközi szervezetek képviselnek, mint a womenonwave.org vagy a womenhelp.org. Sajnálatos, hogy sem a lengyel kormány, sem a lengyel katolikus egyház nem hajlandó arról tudomást venni, hogy ezzel hány fiatal lány, asszony életét sodorja veszélybe, tesz majd meddővé a veszélyes illegális beavatkozások eredményeképpen.
